While there is a place for the traditional, adventurous team building exercise, the team optimisation referred to here is more about the team having an authentic conversation about roles, boundaries, authorisation, interpersonal effect, conflict and norms. The team then moves on to refine their value proposition and agree the actions to position themselves optimally in their organisation. The team comes away from the workshop with team governance and a clarified identity and purpose that can be owned and maintained.
